The impacts of climate change on rainfall modeling in the Pantanal of Mato Grosso do Sul

The most significant and influential meteorological element in environmental conditions human activities is precipitation. objective of this study was to adjust eight probability distributions monthly, seasonal annual rainfall data the Pantanal Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, using a time series (1983-2013) by National Meteorological Water Agency (ANA). performance evaluation different distribution models assessed quality fit selected for precipitation data. Quality tests as chi-square, Kolmogorov-Smirnov (KS) Anderson-Darling (AD), information criteria Akaike (AIC) Bayesian criterion (BIC) were used. Then mean root square error (RMSE) coefficient determination (R2) applied. analyzes made annually seasons. 3-parameter Lognormal performs best all twelve months provides best-fit monthly Thus characterizing dry period that runs from May September rainy between October April, it observed has adjustment spring summer, winter autumn 2-parameter Gamma performed better. For observations, function fits Weibull distribution.
